Sidewalk Talk

"We need a way to hear the stories of people really different than we are. The more people we get to know the wider our embrace of humanity becomes."

Traci Ruble | Sidewalk Talk Founder

Danika opened the Salt Lake City Sidewalk Talk Chapter in December 2017 and today still serves as the SLC chapter leader. The model is simple: 2 chairs and an invitation to be heard. 10 minutes listening to anyone about anything. Some share stories of joy and clarity, others share of pain and confusion. No advice offered. Just heart-felt listening.

The mission of Sidewalk Talk is to nurture human connection by teaching and practicing heart-centered listening in public spaces. Sidewalk talk is a community listening project started by therapists but open to all. It’s a grassroots project that has grown to over 40 chapters in cities all over the world.
